Main female character

My two main characters are husband and wife, and they run their own camera shop/photographers, where they take fun photos and then charge their customers extortionate prices.

Basically fairly similar to the characters played by Sasha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter in Les Miserables.

Here are my Female character drawings/developments:

Props

I have started to draw up props for my story, but christmas was a very busy and family orientated time, so I didn't get much work done over christmas. However, the props are mostly all the little details in my story, so I will add lots more drawings of my props as I make them. The props will be things that you find in a camera shop/photographers, so lots of frames and different cameras and prices lists.

Below is a very rough drawing of tourist photo boards, (not sure what the proper word for them is) the ones that have pictures of people with the face cut out, so that people can put their own faces through the hole and so their face appears on a different body.

Set design

Being honest I had the style/rough time period in which I want my story to be set, chosen for quite some time.
So the first thing I started with was set and background research.

I try include things I've done and places I've visited in my life, because I like everything I do to contribute to something. And it just so happened that earlier this year we visited a model village on a drawing trip and I thought the images I took may come in useful as inspiration for drawing and eventually building my set.

Schedule

We have started pre-production for our 3rd year student films.
The very first thing to do was to write a check list and then organise a schedule in order to start getting things done.

Christmas Presents

So hand painted shoes seems to be my new thing, they're a christmas thing this year.

My mum is a very caring and giving person, her favourite colour is orange and her favourite animal is the elephant.
So I bought her an orange pair of Toms shoes, (for every pair of Toms that are purchased, the company gives a pair of shoes to a child in need) and I was going to just paint elephants on the shoes, but it progressed to African animals. I used some of my photographs that I took when we were in Holiday in South Africa as reference. Here are the finished product:

For my car crazed mechanic of a father, I bought a plain pair of white Vans and painted Formula 1 related things on them. I used photos of Red Bull and Michael Schumacher as reference and also painted a rough shape of the Bahrain and Abu Dhabi tack on the left shoe. (The Bahrain and Abu Dhabi tracks because my dad has been to both, the Bahrain track more than once, as he lives in Saudi Arabia, which is driving distance, and Adu Dhabi was his most recent trip.)

"The First rule of Fight Club is..."

My other half loved his Breaking Bad shoes so much that he asked me to paint him a Fight Club pair.
So I did. I got them done just before Halloween, which was good because he dresses as Edward Norton from Fight Club for halloween, so shoes went perfectly.
